Get ready and hang on! If there is a word to describe Santa Mariña (former Monterrey) motocross track it is FAST.
We find there an unusual terrain in Galicia: hard-packed and rocky. It gets dry quickly what makes it appropriate for rainy days. In the summertime the temperature in the area usually gets to the highest rates of the whole country so do not forget to get there well hydrated.
Elevation is minimal, it is a rather flat circuit. Sense of riding is counterclockwise although it has not always been that way. Track was created in the nineties and although it has undergone slight remodeling that fact is noticeable in its old school mx design.
There are two small tabletops, a double and two also light pyramids. Corners are mostly fast and there are several sections with long straights to open the throttle wide to the stratosphere.
Track is often repaired, usually in good condition. The organization sends out communications each time a grooming or modification is executed.
It is not uncommon to find there some of the strongest motocross riders in Galicia as Sergio Fernandez or Joel Antón, as well as well-known veterans like the Bernárdez brothers.
